Ferrous sulphate, also known as iron(II) sulphate, is a greenish or white crystalline powder with the chemical formula FeSO₄·xH₂O, where x often equals 7 (in its common hydrated form, FeSO₄·7H₂O). It is an important iron salt used in medicine, industry, and agriculture.
Chemical Composition:Formula (Hydrated form): FeSO₄·7H₂O
Formula (Anhydrous form): FeSO₄
It consists of iron (Fe²⁺), sulphate (SO₄²⁻) ions, and water molecules (in hydrated form).
Appearance: Light green crystalline powder (hydrated), white to greyish-white (anhydrous)

Solubility: Soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol
